And the Bride Wore Pink...

Ok ladies. I've been holding out. As soon as I got that other dress in the mail (the one that didn't work out) I went right back online to search.

And I found simplydresses.com

You can shop by dress color and I looked at the white section first, obviously. But then I looked under pink, just for fun, and I found the dress pictured above. I fell in love. My mom fell in love. My sister fell in love. My FI fell in love.

WHAT?!

Yes, I let him see the dress online. Big deal, lol. He won't ever get to see me try it on, though.

I ordered it, and got it in the mail less than a week later. The best thing about it... IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE PICTURE and fits PERFECTLY. Thank God!!!! And I honestly love it. I don't think I even want a second reception dress because I love this one so much.

This dress is actually more in line with how I've always envisioned myself on my wedding day. I saw myself strapless, and nothing too poofy. The dress has material that lingers in the back, almost like it has a train. It definitely feels wedding-y, and the material is very soft.

There's a lot I like about this dress. It was under budget ($300), and its not like its a dress I'll see at a million other weddings. In the end, you just have to "do you." Some may think its sooo weird and a big deal that it's not white. I could care less. I always wanted to wear a beautiful pink dress, but never found one for both of my proms. (Where was this site when I was in high school?!). I'm definitely glad I said "yes" to the dress!

Reception Dress- Little White Dress

So, I'm excited about the reception dress. Ooh, what will it be? These beauties were found at ardenb.com all for around $150 or less. I actually wanted a cocktail dress that was more fitted but I liked how 3 out of 4 of these actually matched the beading and bust style of my wedding dress. For some reason dress number two is my favorite (and the most expensive). Enjoy!

Bridesmaid's Dress Numero Uno

As you know, all of my bridesmaids are based in different states. Not only that, but my bridal party of 5 (and then 3 flower girls) are all wonderfully diverse in size, shape, and color. So, how could we ever possibly decide on one dress, in one color? The task seemed impossible to me. I loved the growing trend of letting bridesmaids pick their own dress, as long as it met a few guidelines.
My guidelines? Black, and around knee length. And tada! Above you see the very first bridesmaid dress that has been chosen for my wedding. My bridesmaid Ivy found it yesterday while we were in Macy's in black. She also found another dress that was a viable option for the wedding, and since it was only $40 she decided to get both! Isn't the dress b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l?

The whole dress thing was on a spur of the moment. Ivy, my friend I met in high school, is in town for two weeks before she's back to being super-researcher-college student. So I wanted to spend time and catch up with one of my lovelies. We went to go get facials at the Macy's where my future MIL works at. On a whim, we went up to the second level to look at dresses. I actually had JUST told Ivy about my idea for the bridesmaids dresses, and I'll admit I was a little worried what she might think. I mean in theory, the idea could sound sketchy of letting everyone pick their own dress. But, being the supportive bridesmaid she is, she said it sounded good. And then she fell in love with two dresses and I think she is further sold on the idea, as am I.
It was a surprise to me that she made the purchase yesterday, but it made perfect sense. She just opened up a Macy's card and could get good use off of the 15 reward they offer for the first two days after you open a card.

She decided she liked the first dress better (pictured above) for the wedding and I agreed. She can use the other dress she bought for other special occasions.

The cashier was nice enough to print out a list of stores carrying them and the design number which I will be passing along to my other bridesmaids for inspiration. Hopefully their dress shopping is as successful! Who would have thought my bridesmaid would end up with two dresses she would love to wear again out of the deal?

Could This Be the Dress?

I won it on Ebay. Now I just have to see if the seller comes through on my sizing and I hope this experience goes well. I actually just won it on ebay, it comes out to under $200 including shipping. BUT. I've never bought clothes on Ebay. In fact, I thought buying a wedding dress on ebay was a great idea, but not for me.

That all changed once I went dress shopping at David's Bridal. A bridesmaid and I went yesterday, and after about 9 dresses, only 2 were okay, and of the 2 one I kinda liked was like this dress, but $400. So, I found this on ebay and thought, why not? I haven't paid on it yet. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller. Needless to say, I'm nervous.
